This was an excellent weekend of soccer. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Rampage played up an age group in this one, and, as luck would have it, wound up in what might have been the toughest of five U13 brackets. We got the weekend off with a difficult one against a substantially bigger and faster Ancient City squad that dominated us and deserved the win (Ancient City would go on to be Region Cup and Presidents Cup Champions). In our next two games, the Rampage showed what they were made of, going up in both cases against physically superior teams, only to lose the lead in the final minutes of each match against MEGU and East Orange on a PK and free kick, respectively. Despite not advancing to the next round, the weekend was a moral victory for the Rampage and a positive experience. Becoming better as a soccer player and soccer team is all about the history and experiences. This weekend will stick in the kids minds for a very long time.
Connor C. earned the honor this weekend as our sportsman of the tournament. He played bigger than anyone else on the field. Well done Connor, and well done Rampage.
