We took ten boys to the Jacksonville Got Milk 3v3. This is one of the largest 3v3 events in the state. The boys competed in the U11 competitive division which turned out to be a very even group--it seemed like any of the teams could beat any other team. It all boiled down to who worked the hardest and in some cases a little luck. We were a bit rusty having been out of the 3v3 circuit for about 4 months. Both our teams started off a bit slow, but picked up the pace each game. Rampage-Blue was on fire by game 2 and played some excellent ball on Saturday allowing them to advance to the semis. Team-White struggled a bit, going 1-1-1 on Saturday, but managed to advance to the semis as well. Both teams had tough semi matches against Team USA White and the Jacksonville-Fury. Both teams got up on their opponent in the first half, but lost some momentum and ended up at the losing end of a great battle. So as luck would have it, we ended the weekend with a Rampage-Rampage 3rd place match. The boys played for fun and Rampage-Blue came out the winners in the end. With their advancement to the semis, both teams qualified for the Got Milk South Eastern Regional Championships.
Each tournament, we select a player of the tournament that displayed sportsmanship, leadership, and other Rampage qualities. This time the honor goes to James D. who put in a tremendous effort this weekend, leading his team in goals and hard work. Congratulations, James, and to all ten players that travelled with us to Jacksonville.
