Team Objectives
It is important for our team that we collectively establish near term and long term team objectives. I am always seeking input from parents and players because this is your team. Following are our current objectives.
2002-03
Team Objectives:
The primary objective of this team will be to provide
a safe and fun environment for our players to develop their skills as well as
strong friendships.
In the 2002-03 year we will go to three Silver, Bronze and/or Copper tournaments and compete in Region Cup. In addition, players will have the option to play in several 3v3 tournaments, and depending on available funds after Region Cup, we will vote as a team on whether to go to a 4th tournament.
We will compete in both the Spring and Fall seasons in the Northern Florida League as a U10 team.
2003-04
Team Objectives:
The primary team objectives in 2003-04 are similar to
those for 2002-03 except that we will compete as either a U11 or U12 team (to
be determined after tryouts). Currently, I am planning on participating in at
least four quality tournaments and region cup. We may play in one out of state
tournament.
Coach's
Long Term Objectives:
Through fun, hard work, dedication, and player development
we will seek to...
maintain a quality squad that competes at the highest level in FL,
play in Gold, Silver, Bronze, tournaments (according to gotsoccer.com),
create a team that can realistically compete for President's Cup (through U12) and State Cup (U13 and older),
create a team that competes annually at the Tampa Sun Bowl (U14 and older),
compete in one out of State tournament per year beginning U12 season,
compete in two international tournaments between U13 and U18 years,
keep team costs low through frugal spending, sponsors and fund raising.
Coach's
Personal Objective:
An important objective for the team is continuous
player development. Each of us will measure this in our own way. In order for
the team to grow, the coaches need to grow with it. Consequently, a personal objective
for myself is constant improvement in my understanding of coaching and the game,
and constant self assessment. I will continue to do this through studying and
participating in the game as well as through various courses offered by USSF,
NSCAA, Coerver, etc.
One of my near term goals is to obtain my USSF National Youth License.
