Team Costs

The typical total cost for a select soccer team is approximately $7000 per year, including the costs of uniforms, equipment, tournament, league, club, referee fees, etc. Thus, for a team with 16 players and two alternates, the real annual cost per player is in excess of $400. Many teams/clubs in FL and around the country charge $1000 to in excess of $2000 per year to cover extra travel costs, costs of coaches and club growth, and in some cases funds for player scholarships.

Our objective is to keep annual player fees below $350, yet still provide a super high quality experience. Through the generous support of several sponsors and other fund raising opportunities, our 2002-03 team fees were $300. It is expected that in 2003-04 team fees will be less than $300 and in 2004-05 fees will be closer to $400 due the the need to purchse new uniforms.

In estimating your annual costs, you should also factor in the additional costs that are associated with being on a travel team, such as transportation ($0.25/mile), hotels ($40-80/night), and meals ($30/person-day) on the road. We will probably travel to 3 tournaments (in FL) in our first year as a select team. In addition, we will take interested players to a number of 3 v 3 tournaments. The cost of 3 v 3 tournaments will be in addition to the annual fee (approximately $20-$30 per player per game).

Players will be expected to pay their team fees in a timely manner. Special circumstances withstanding, players may not participate in games until their team fees have been paid in part or full. (The coach can not accept the burden of expenses for the team.)
