Practice Policy
All players should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time. Please keep in mind that you are expected to attend all of our practices throughout the year. Missing a weekend or a practice or two will in no way result in penalty for the player. It is those that habitually miss practice who lose their spots in fairness to the rest of the team. A couple missed weekends is no problem with me.
If you know in advance that you are going to miss practice, please notify me in advance.
Being part of a select soccer team brings with it certain responsibilities. All players are expected to come to practices. We recognize that soccer is not the most important part of everone's life. We have vacations, school, and many other activities. It is understandable that players will miss practices occasionally. Players that miss practices on a regular basis or routinely arrive late will not be given the same playing opportunities during games as those with excellent records. This is not meant to serve as a penalty, but rather to be fair to those players that show strong dedication.
Competitive soccer is a commitment, not just to yourself, but to a team. It is important to understand that we practice most of the year. December through March are particularly critical times as we prepare for region cup or state cup competition. While this is a time that recreational soccer players take off in our community, and is also a time when kids may choose to participate in basketball or other activities, we will practice, scrimmage, and go to tournaments during this time period.
With the exception of lightning and other severe events, we will not cancel practices for weather. Everyone will be notified by email of cancellations and you will be contacted by me or another parent.
A practice schedule will always be posted and updated on the web.
